Why does when I connect my PC to my TV it doesn't give an output?

Why does when I connect my PC to my TV it doesn't give an output?

Ubuntu 13.04.
Ok, so I installed 13.04 the other day. I never connected my PC to my TV, but I wanted to test it out. But the TV just said "No Signal". So, I got my 12.04 Live CD out, loaded up a USB, inserted them both, and 12.04 came up all fine, and the video on my USB was fine. Also, when I plug my VGA in to my TV and run 'lspci | grep vga', the output is just:
unknown
But if I un-plug it and run the same command, I get:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2582] (rev 04)
So why is it doing this?
Thanks.
