Birmingham, UK (PRWEB) January 15, 2012

Packt Publishing, one of the world?s leading publishers of Oracle training and reference material, is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of: Governance, Risk, and Compliance Handbook for Oracle Applications. Written by industry experts, the book covers the Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Management of a large modern enterprise and how the IT Infrastructure, in particular the Oracle IT infrastructure, can assist in that governance. The book is scheduled for a March 2012 publication.

As the book?s title suggests, Governance, Risk, and Compliance Handbook for Oracle Applications is divided into three primary sections:

Governance ? which discusses the strategic management of the enterprise, the setting of plans for managers, disclosure, and more.

Risk Management ? which discusses audit disciplines. This crucial section looks to map out what can go wrong, document what needs to be done to prevent failure; it moves through the various sub-disciplines within the audit profession and flags up what tools are best suited from within the Oracle stack to assist.

Compliance Management maps out the tools and facilities that have been discovered in the first two sections to frameworks and legislations. Information is provided from both an industry and geography agnostic viewpoint, with certain specific industries and countries showcased.

Who is this title for? Governance, Risk, and Compliance Handbook for Oracle Applications is aimed at individuals who advise boards, internal audit departments and CIO office on controls, security and risk assurance. Consultants that are implementing Financials or GRC Applications who wish to gain an understanding of the Governance Risk and Compliance processes, and how they are represented in Oracle, should find it a useful primer. GHS Transition for Chemical Manufacturers Facilitated with Atrion's Product Compliance Solution

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) March 19, 2009

Atrion International announces that its Product Compliance Solution continues to fully support the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The solution automates the creation of globally compliant and multi-lingual MSDS/SDS, labels, hazard summary sheets as well as documents related to transportation, inventory reports and more. The solution's key features enable global chemical formulators and manufacturers to produce GHS-compliant documents with minimal IT, EH&S resources or additional content expenditures.

"Atrion's Product Compliance Solution has been 'GHS ready' for longer than any other solution in the industry", said Frank Arcadi, Vice President, Product Strategy & Direction. "We understood early on that addressing GHS compliance meant more than simply providing a software tool that mimics the UN Purple-Book. Atrion's approach of combining software applications with our vast libraries of Managed Regulatory Content and value-added service is unique. It assures our customers that as new country-specific flavors of GHS are adopted, they will stay well ahead of the enforcement curve," added Mr. Arcadi.

Despite the fact that GHS has been around for a number of years, two revisions and countless country-specific obligations later, chemical manufacturers and formulators find themselves struggling with wave after wave of GHS compliance in order to get their products to their intended markets. By leveraging Atrion's Product Compliance Solution, companies can easily and cost-effectively adapt, manage and respond to global GHS legislative changes while controlling any existing or future product compliance risk such as loss of sales, regulatory fines, customer issues and bad customer relationships.

Atrion's Product Compliance Solution fully automates the creation of hazard communication documents--combining regulatory data, toxicology and physical properties, compliant forms, standardized rules and translated phrase libraries--in compliance with GHS legislation. By simply using product information, customers are able to generate complete country-specific, compliant documents for multiple economies (NA, EU, Asia Pacific) and in over 40 languages. In addition, Atrion's Managed Regulatory Content is designed so that the assessment of GHS classification, based on available data, need only occur once and the country-specific rules embedded in the system will apply country-specific nuances.

Atrion also provides manufacturers with the option of cost-effectively outsourcing their SDS production using Atrion's Authoring Services. This enables companies to reduce internal IT and EH&S overhead and regulatory content maintenance costs, and re-allocate these scarce resources to core business activities.

In addition, manufacturers are able to leverage the expertise of Atrion's in-house Regulatory Experts who monitor and stay on top of global regulations and work with regulators to get official interpretations. This combined with access to 'forums' of experts such as customer peer groups for discussions and information exchange on GHS implementation offers manufacturers a distinct advantage when dealing with business issues surrounding a disharmonized GHS.
